Our machining services offer large and specialized equipment. Equipment include Surface Grinding, CNC machining centers and lathes, horizontal and vertical boring mills, Milling machines, drill presses, and shapers.

Universe’s wide variety of Millwrighting includes repair and servicing of:

Heat Treating

Here at Universe we have two different sized furnaces that we regularly use to heat treat a wide variety of products for stress relieving, normalizing, and tempering.

 

Small Furnace: Maximum Dimensions: 38″ Wide x 38″ High x 66″ Deep

 

Large Furnace: Maximum Dimensions: 89″ Wide x 104″ High x 106″ Deep
Maximum Weight: 30,000 lbs.

Welding, Fabrication, and Cutting

We offer a wide range of welding and torch cutting for large and small pieces.

 

• Welding services include:
  • Hard face coating
  • Repair work
  • Machinery components
  • B pressure welding (including valves, pressure components, etc.)
  • We also fabricate and machine small to large structural frames
  • Our CNC oxygen cutting table can cut any shape desired up to 6″ thick
  • The shape data can be provided by a drawing or CAD data file

  • SMAW
  • GTAW
  • FCAW

  • SAW

Quality Assurance

Our experienced staff meet customers requirements for fabricated, machined, welded, and cast components/products utilizing tooling and equipment calibrated to references traceable to national standards. Our Quality Assurance services include:

 

• In-house Non-destructive testing examination which include liquid dye penetrant and fluorescent magnetic particle inspections in compliance to the standard ASNT TSNT-TC-1A
• Positive Material Identification (PMI)
• Hardness testing
• Coordinate measuring machine for measuring within a volumetric envelope of 39 in (L) x 27 in (W) x 22 in (H). Its uses include aiding in the realization of products and providing part measurement and documentation (hard copy reports available upon request)

Laser / PTA Heat Treating and Cladding

One of Universe Machine’s latest additions is a CNC laser and robotic PTA machine. These new machines enable us to perform heat treating and cladding using laser and PTA with multiple advantages over traditional heat treating and cladding methods.
